For the upcoming school year 2026-2027 we are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Timetabler/Roostermaker (0,8 – 1,0 fte).
As a Timetabler at the AICS, you will be working closely with school leaders, teachers, and support staff to create and maintain effective timetables and daily cover. Responding flexibly to changing requirements, and continually refining processes through feedback and learning. The role requires a practical and organised approach to ensure timetables are delivered accurately and on time ensuring the needs of staff and students are met and disruptions are minimised.
AICS offers a temporary contract with the option of a permanent contract in the future.
Pay scale 8 or 9 depending on experience (min. €3.022,- max. €5.025,- full-time per month, before tax).

We are looking for a team member who is:
- able to plan and create the primary and secondary annual school timetables according to defined parameters
- able to to plan and create additional schedules like daily covers, exam timetables and activities schedules
- able to allocate and optimize the use of teaching facilities (classrooms, staff, resources)
- able to perform quality checks on timetables and schedules for feasibility and consistency
- able to advise the leadership team on formation and timetable implications due to student number growth and (educational) policy trends, while identifying opportunities and potential impacts of decisions proposed
- able to ensure that deadlines are met, information is accurate, relevant stakeholders are informed and that current policies and procedures are followed
- able to find creative solutions to timetabling; identify and resolve scheduling issues, including those arising from unforeseen changes
- able to collaborate within the timetable team that consists of two timetablers
- able to collaborate with the systems team, careers counselors, IB coordinators, heads and deputy heads of campus, subject area coordinators and other key stakeholders
- understanding of the daily activities of a school and how to most effectively and efficiently reflect such in the system to accommodate all users
- understanding of the IB curriculum and structure of subject requirements
- able to start work daily at 06:30, flexible to work at either one of our campuses
- able to work accurately and efficiently under pressure during peak moments of the school year
Role requirements:
- experience with daily and annual timetabling processes
- experience with the administration and registration of student data
- experience with Zermelo is a plus, or experience with other timetabling software and the willingness to learn how Zermelo works
- basic knowledge about the Dutch Collective Agreements (CAO) for both Primary and Secondary
- excellent attention to detail
- strong communication skills and ability to function well within a team
- fluency in English (written and spoken)
- good command of Dutch

The AICS is a Dutch International Primary and Secondary School. Our vision statement is to be a community where learning is at the heart of everything we do. The mission of the AICS is to facilitate high quality, accessible, community-based international learning for students of all nationalities living in The Netherlands.
The AICS was the first school in the Netherlands to offer the full IB continuum (IB PYP, MYP, DP, and CP). Together with a number of other national Dutch schools we form the ‘Esprit School Group’.
The AICS is a partly-state-funded community school, which enables us to deliver high-quality education at competitive fees. The AICS is a fully-accredited member of the Council of International Schools (CIS) and offers international education to internationally-mobile students from over 70 different nationalities.
