At ESH Secondary we recognize that all students require different levels and kinds of support, from language acquisition to learning needs or from emotional support to stress management, to ensure their well-being. Our dedicated Support Team, made up of highly qualified and experienced Learning Support Specialists, Counsellors and Psychologists continually review, reflect on, and report on the support needs of the students in their care and maintain an open channel for discussion with parents.
· Promote inclusive education by embedding principles of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) across subjects and teaching practices.
· Plan, deliver, and evaluate group interventions to strengthen academic and study skills.
· Facilitate workshops for staff, students, and parents on learning strategies, resilience and executive functioning.
· Provide one-to-one support when needed for students with specific learning needs, focusing on skill-building and independence.
· Collaborate with teachers to differentiate instruction, adapt materials, and co-plan lessons to meet diverse learner needs.
· Advise and guide parents on strategies to support learning at home, including practical tools for organization, motivation, and self-regulation.
· Support staff development by modelling inclusive teaching practices, leading training sessions, and sharing resources.
· Contribute to school policies and practices on inclusion, equity, and accessibility in learning.
· Monitor and track student progress in collaboration with teachers, mentors, and the pastoral team, using data to guide interventions.
· Connect with external agencies and specialists where necessary to ensure holistic support for students.
Requirements
· Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, Psychology, or a related field.
· Fluency in English is required.
· Proven experience in supporting students with learning differences within a school environment, with a focus on curriculum and assessment accessibility.
· Demonstrated ability to explore, identify, and implement evidence-based practices to improve teaching, learning, and assessment accessibility.
· Experience in delivering group interventions and workshops for students, staff, and parents.
· Familiarity with Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles and the ability to integrate them into classroom practices.
· Strong collaborative skills to work effectively with teachers, pastoral staff, parents, and external professionals.
· Commitment to ongoing professional development in the fields of inclusive education, SEN, and student wellbeing.
Desirable
· Theoretical and practical knowledge of student support in an International school setting
· Experience of working within multidisciplinary student support teams
· Experience of working in a multilingual environment with specific language needs
· Experience in coaching and supporting teachers in meeting individual students needs
· Fluency Dutch or German or French would be a advantage
Skills and Abilities
· Possess effective communication skills and relates well with all students, teachers and support staff;
· Good organizational and administration skills;
· Ability to work collaboratively with others and work effectively within a team;
· Ability to assess, record, plan, set goals, evaluate progress and produce reports and explicit teaching techniques relating to student needs;
· IT skills relevant to supporting students with additional educational needs;
· Demonstrates a willingness to be committed to several tasks as required and manage time well to ensure quality outcomes.

o The salary is a minimum €3179 and a maximum of €5277 for a full-time contract on scale . The salary scale is 10 and the step offered will depend on your level of experience.
o 8% holiday allowance (May)
o 8.33% year-end bonus (December)
o October allowance €1640 for a full-time position
o Monthly contribution towards travel expenses (if applicable)
o ABP pension scheme
o Number of options for tax benefits regarding, e.g. trade union dues, the costs of sports (for instance, fitness membership fees and the purchase of a bicycle (for commuting purposes)
