About the Role
When you work in ESH’s Mathematics Department, you will be part of a multicultural team of passionate teachers delivering lessons across four language sections. We value teamwork and a culture of collaboration in which we, as teachers, are lifelong learners. Our students are generally actively engaged in class, helpful and have a positive attitude. We are looking for a teacher who is not only intent on encouraging our gifted and talented learners to go beyond the classroom, but who also values the educational journey of all students in the classroom. As a Teacher of Mathematics, you will:
· Deliver engaging mathematics lessons, in English, to students aged 11-18, following the European Baccalaureate curriculum.
· Create an inclusive classroom environment where every student’s talent is nurtured.
· Collaborate with a team of passionate educators to support a thriving maths programme.
· Assess students’ progress through formative and summative evaluations, including coursework, class assessments and written exams.
· Attend and participate in departmental meetings, professional development sessions, and European School-related training.
· Where lesson allocation allows, teachers may also contribute by taking a mentor class, a maths support lesson or teach an Ethics class.
· For a suitable candidate, there is the possibility to teach maths in other language sections: French, Dutch or German.
· For a suitable candidate, there is a possibility to apply for the role of Numeracy Coordinator (0.2 FT).
What We’re Looking For
· A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mathematics or closely related fields (First-degree/Eerste graads) and full teaching qualification for Secondary Education (recognised by the Dutch Education Authorities).
· Excellent English (C2 level).
· Experience teaching in international or intercultural settings is desirable.
· A creative, inclusive approach to teaching and a willingness to contribute to extra-curricular activities.
· The possibility to teach maths in French, Dutch or German is possible for a suitable candidate, but is not an essential requirement for this role.

· We offer a salary aligned with the Dutch Collective Labour Agreement (CAO VO). The salary is a minimum of 3622€ and a maximum of 5520€ for a full-time contract on the LB scale. The salary scale and the step offered will depend on your level of experience.
